The Arrowhead Chamber Strings in a comprehensive and standards-based class consisting of violin, viola, cello, and double bass. The Chamber Strings is made up of grade 7-12 students. Ensemble members will expand their understanding in fundamentals, music concepts, and technique on their instruments. Students are expected to fully prepare all parts individually outside of class to promote ensemble awareness within the rehearsal.

This ensemble rehearses every day during 1st period and performs in four concerts throughout the year, in addition to festival and chamber performances. Many students take private lessons and are involved in MYSO, WAYO, and other performing ensembles. Students are encouraged to study private music lessons, due to the wide range of ability in the ensemble. This ensemble performs a variety of repertoire from classical to jazz and other alternative styles.

Students who are have formerly studied a string instrument and would like to perform again can join the ensemble with the assistance of private lessons and modified parts. If you want to make music, we can make it work!

Students and parents can contact Mrs. Dunmire for more information on enrolling in Chamber Strings.
