Jazz Ensemble

Arrowhead Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group (auditions take place in February for the following year). This ensemble is Arrowhead's premiere jazz ensemble that meets every day during 10th period. The group has between four-eight performances each year and participates in community events and festivals. The Arrowhead Jazz Ensemble has participated in the Lawrence Fred Sturm Jazz Weekend, UWSP Jazz Festival, UWGB Jazz Festival, and has traveled to New York City to perform at the world-famous Jazz Standard. The Arrowhead Jazz Ensemble has worked with renowned jazz musicians/educators such as Eddie Gomez, Don Owens, Alvester Garnett, Adam Meckler, Fred Sturm, Scott Hall, Matt Buchman, Jose Encarnacion, David O'Rourke, Jeremy Pelt, and Rodrigo Villanueva. In this ensemble, students focus on building musical skills within the jazz genre and develop improvisation techniques, rhythm, listening, and history. 

 

3 O'clock Jazz Band
The 3 O'clock Jazz Band meets on Thursdays at 3pm between November and April and is an extracurricular, voluntary ensemble. All instruments are welcome and there is no audition necessary. In this ensemble, students focus on building musical skills within the jazz genre and develop improvisation techniques, rhythm, listening, and history. Sign up in October and be ready to swing!
