Arrowhead Union High School Wind Ensemble 00005_edited.jpg

The Arrowhead High School Wind Ensemble is comprised of the most advanced wind and percussion students in Arrowhead’s Instrumental Music Program. Many members take private lessons and participate in outside music ensembles such as the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Youth Wind and Jazz Ensembles, and other organizations around the country. This ensemble continues a rich tradition of commissioning and premiering new works by some of the finest composers in the world such as Michael Markowski, Carl Holmquist, John Mackey, Clint Needham, and Alec Schumacker, among others. Notable performances include the National Band Association Wisconsin Chapter conventions (2011, 2016, and 2020), the Wisconsin State Music Conferences (2014, 2023), and the Sounds of Spring Festival at Carnegie Hall (2022). This ensemble recently performed in the Washington DC International Music Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presented by World Projects in April of 2024. They most recently performed at the Wisconsin Concert Band Association Conference at the University of Whitewater in January 2025.
