Mr. Moore currently directs the Pep Bands, Drumline, Percussion Ensemble, and serves as the Assistant Marching Band Director. Jahi Moore is a December 2017 Graduate of Norfolk State University with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. As a participant, he was involved in middle school, high school, and college marching and concert band. While in high school, Jahi marched in the fall marching band and indoor drumline on ternors for 4 years. After graduation, he traveled to Norfolk VA, where he continued his marching and concert participation at Norfolk State University. Eventually he started the first student lead percussion ensemble, consisting of only tenor drums. As the composer and director, he became the youngest to complete this task in the music department. His collegiate marching experience also includes playing tenors for independent open and world class ensembles such as, Dominion Storm Indoor Drumline, Forza East Independent Percussion, and the George Mason University Indoor Drumline in WGI. After marching, Jahi became an educator for Tar River Independent Percussion in North Carolina. He began as the tenor instructor his first year, became the snare and tenor instructor the next year, and then the full batter coordinator in his last year with the group. He looks forward to a season filled with fun, hard work, and clean beats.
